Hello, Wednesday readers
It's all about those things that are turning up unannounced this week: snakes, stick insects and pigeons. I also share my thought on a kayaking school for seniors and what I learnt from giving the kayak a go myself

I've got to say, I didn't not enjoy the little taste of Autumn we had this week. Who doesn't love being able to climb into some warm PJs and eat piping-hot risotto? But it might take a little to get used to. Spring will always be my favourite season but we're still seeing lots of warmer weather creatures about, some of which are turning up all over the place. I'm looking at you, golden-crowned snake and stick insects! We're also looking at another visitor, one which flies into the area for Autumn – the top-knot pigeon.
I also share my thoughts on a kayaking school for seniors and what I learnt from giving the kayak a go myself. Spoiler alert: I'm going to need some adaptations!
In plant news, Emma and Merilyn give us two plants to watch out for. I'm telling you, every time I read one of Merilyn's 'Be Weed Wise' articles, I turn around and it's either growing on my street or in my yard. This time we're looking at the vibrant but invasive Easter cassia. Emma tells us how to look out for nettles when we're next in the bush and, for that, I thank her!
Until next week,
Amanda
