This week, I decided to practise what I preach and really pushed myself to spend more time outside. We did a couple of short walks, and I've made a new little coffee spot in my backyard to watch the birds and lizards and it's been fabulous for my physical and mental health. So this week I look at the Norwegian practice of 'friluftsliv' and how it has helped me.
Growing Illawarra Natives coordinator Emma features one of my favourite trees, the Blackbutt Eucalypt, and all the benefits it brings to the ecosystem, while Landcare's 'Weed Wise' Merilyn focuses on the Montbretia plant and what we should grow instead.
Meanwhile, I get to spend some time with my absolute favourite animal in the world (well, one of), the Echidna, and you can watch it in action as it tears apart an ants' nest.
Hope you can incorporate a little friluftsliv in your life this week.
Until next week,
Amanda
