Hello, Wednesday readers

I quickly regretted all my complaining about a lack of summer after being hit with several days in the early 30s! I put out various shallow trays of water for the wildlife and then retreated into the air-conditioning.

This week I chat to Rachel Shaw about her upcoming exhibition at the Timbermill Studios and how she made her start in wood carving. We also talk to NSW Turtle Watch about the very special sighting of a green turtle nesting on Wollongong beach. Read about how to learn about what it's like to start a zoo and where to see all the best sculptures outside.

And in the plant world: Growing Illawarra Natives' Emma Rooksby looks at Blady grass, while Helensburgh Landcare's Merilyn House issues a warning to watch out for Moth vine.

Until next week,

Amanda
