When will the pilot start?

The Electrify 2515 team alongside Rewiring Australia are in the process of putting together a lengthy funding application to the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).

Once the application is submitted, ARENA will take time to consider it, so we are not expecting a response until some time in the first quarter of 2023 (perhaps February/March/April, but we'll keep you updated). We're also consulting other potential funders and collaborators.

A lot of volunteer hours are going into this bold and complex project (pictured is what our team looks like once a fortnight!).

Whether we secure funding or not, we will still be looking at assisting households and businesses with electrification whether it's through education, lobbying council/MPs, bulk buys etc so next year there will be movement happening, we're just not sure what shape it will take at this stage.

Either way, any success in creating a Net Zero Emissions Community depends on the support of the community – i.e. you!
