The Wollongong Harmony Chorus wowed a crowd of approximately 100 enthusiastic supporters at their Family and Friends Concert in May, delivering a heartwarming and high-energy performance in preparation for the upcoming Sweet Adelines Australia National Convention in Hobart on 16-18 May 2025.
The 39-member chorus used the event as a full-dress rehearsal for their convention performance package, which they will present on the national stage later this month. It will be a significant milestone, especially as it marks the first competition for the chorus’s new musical co-directors, as well as for five of its newest members.
“Our Family and Friends Concert gave us the perfect opportunity to share our music with our community and to fine-tune our performance in a warm, encouraging environment,” said Sam and Alison, musical co-directors. “We’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited to step onto the Hobart stage.”
The audience responded with enthusiastic applause, reinforcing the chorus’s readiness and boosting morale as they prepare to represent the Illawarra on the national stage.
Wollongong Harmony Chorus is part of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide organisation of women committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance.
The chorus is now eagerly counting down the days to Hobart, where they’ll join choruses from across Australia for a celebration of music.
