Amanda Isler and Deborah Thompson have sold Collins Booksellers Thirroul to a new owner, James Tierney, and are inviting all their customers to a farewell party
1 July 2026 marks the beginning of a new chapter in the life of our bookshop as we hand over the reins to new owner, James Tierney. A simultaneously happy sad moment for us both as you can well imagine and we’d like to thank everyone for their most beautiful thoughts and wishes.
On Wednesday, 24 June, we’ll be saying a very informal goodbye and thank you upstairs at Ryan’s Hotel.
We would like to welcome our dear customers to join us for a chat, with some music and a drink upstairs at Ryan's Hotel, where so many author events have been held.
Matt Ayliffe, guitarist from Dirty Suits, is taking a night out from the band's Reach Into The Sun Tour to play some acoustic and classical guitar music for us.
Amanda and Deb will be there from 6.30-8.30pm and you're welcome to come for a pop-in or the full time, as you wish. Please feel welcome to pop in for a drink and a bit of music.
