TfNSW Traffic Alert: 13 November 2025

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions this Sunday on Appin Road, Princes Highway and the M1 Princes Motorway as hundreds of trucks and motorbikes take part in the annual Illawarra Convoy.

The event will take place between 5am and 3.30pm travelling from Appin and Bulli Tops to Shellharbour Airport in Albion Park Rail.

Speed reductions will be in place at various times on sections of Appin Road, M1 Princes Motorway and Princes Highway.

The Princes Highway will be closed between Helensburgh and Maddens Plains while trucks prepare for the start of the event.

The right hand turn from Mount Ousley Road onto the M1 Motorway northbound will also be closed between 7am and 12pm and vehicles should use University Way to access the motorway northbound.

The convoy will travel in one lane along Appin Road, Old Princes Highway, M1 Princes Motorway, Masters Road, Five Islands Road, King Street, Windang Road, Shellharbour Road, Lake Entrance Road, New Lake Entrance Road and Princes Highway during the event.

A timely reminder to motorists that heavy vehicles require more room to stop, turn and have larger blind spots. Motorists are reminded to exercise caution as they share the roads with the convoy vehicles and allow extra travel time in the area.
