Join Thirroul Scouts for adventures

For 86 years, the 1st Thirroul Scout Group has been a valued part of the Thirroul community. Over the decades, the Group has helped generations of local young people develop outdoor skills, leadership, community service values and lifelong friendships. The Scout Hall at McCauley’s Park on Surfers Parade has been the starting point for adventures and memories.

2026 has already been a fantastic year for our Scouts. Our Scouts proudly marched in the ANZAC Day Parade in Wollongong, continuing Scouting’s tradition of community service and respect.

Activities have also included beach games at Thirroul Beach, South Coast Weekend Wide Games near Nerriga, district abseiling at Mount Keira, camp cooking challenges, laser tag, Nerf battles and an annual Winter Camp at Mount Keira Scout Camp. From hiking to O’Brien’s Lookout, building forts, to campfires, marshmallows and storytelling, our Scouts have been developing confidence, teamwork and resilience while having fun.

The adventure continues in Term 3, with Scouts attending the State Rally and planning for our Group Summer Camp at Cataract Scout Activity Centre. We’re looking for new Cubs and Scouts to join. The more members we have, the more adventures we can share together!
