I’ve lived in Thirroul for about 18 years after moving from Randwick.
I love the area, with such easy access to beaches, swimming, the surrounding bush and the wonderful community. When I’m not working or pretending to be handy around the house or in the garden I’m bushwalking, swimming and playing tennis (or saying we’re playing tennis, but it’s all about the G&Ts).
Here are three of my favourite places.

1. The Wodi Wodi Trail (when it’s open, of course) is a cracker. It has some of the best views of the coast line and if you’re really feeling it, you can keep going and finish the Forest Walk.
2. My backyard because…
I have this neighbour who is obsessed with wildlife and I’m constantly on the look out for her. We find bandicoots, possums, wallabies, pythons, red bellies, the odd Powerful Owl, tawnies, lyre birds, satin bower birds, cat birds, wonga wonga pigeons, sugar gliders, and so much more.
3. Thirroul to Austinmer Beach is stunning. When the tide is right, perfect for running, walking and then taking a dip in the surf at Thirroul Beach or swimming laps at Thirroul Pool or Austi Rock Pool.
Thanks for sharing for your three favourite local places, Edwina!
