RBA Holds Rates Steady: What It Means for Our Coastal Markets

The Reserve Bank’s decision to hold the cash rate at 3.6% reinforces what we’re already seeing locally — a market shaped more by confidence and supply than by borrowing costs.

In Helensburgh, demand remains strong as Sydney buyers continue to seek lifestyle and value. Stable interest rates will likely keep this momentum going, with well-priced homes still attracting solid competition.

In Stanwell Park, the pause may help rebuild buyer confidence, but sellers will still need realistic pricing to convert interest into action. The rate hold won’t lift all boats, but it does reduce uncertainty.

Further south, in Wombarra, Coledale, Austinmer and Thirroul, the prestige market is still working through oversupply. While steady rates may prevent further softening, premium buyers remain selective — presentation and timing are everything.

Overall, this decision gives the market breathing room. With no rate rises on the horizon, stability may become the catalyst for renewed buyer activity heading into summer.
