Scarborough enjoys Kirra Teams Challenge

On March 27-29, the Scarborough Boardriders team headed up to the Gold Coast for the 2026 Kirra Teams Challenge.
The iconic event sees 36 boardriding clubs from around Australia for a long weekend of grassroots surfing, club spirit and good times.
Scarborough has sent a team to the event for well over a decade with six open men and two junior boys selected to attend.
The format is simple; each surfer participates in one four man 20 minute heat and scores points for their club in the order they finish. First gets 4 points, second three points and so on and there is loads of prize money for the top teams.
Thank you and well done to our entire team for making the effort and cost to attend on behalf of the club. Congratulations to our open surfers Joshua Pepper and Fin McLaren for winning their respective heats and in club tradition being carried up the beach by fellow club members.
Overall, we finished 25th and well done Noosa for taking the win.
