Bulli Hospital Auxiliary celebrated its centenary on 8 September with a high tea. Special guests included the Minister for Health, Ryan Park, Heathcote MP Maryanne Stuart, Wollongong Lord Mayor Tania Brown, city councillors and dedicated volunteers, some of whom have been volunteering for more than 50 years.

Marion Cook, the auxiliary’s treasurer, said it was a “very special milestone”, marking 100 years of community service and friendship.

The Bulli Hospital Auxiliary is a branch of the United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW that raises vital funds to support patients and hospital services through donations, market stalls and raffles.

“Thirty-seven members and guests gathered at Corrimal RSL for a wonderful celebration filled with friendship, laughter and plenty of memories,” Marion said.

“It was a chance for our sister auxilliary members to join us and celebrate and share our day along with the Health Minister, the Lord Mayor and local councillors.

“The longest-serving member was our very own Janice Puddle who still serves as vice-president to her granddaughter, Rosalie Lakalaka.”

New members are always welcome. Contact Marion on mazza1307@hotmail.com.
