Road closures on city foreshore for Wollongong run and triathlon

TfNSW advises there will be road closures along the city foreshore on Saturday and Sunday for Run Wollongong and Wollongong Triathlon

Road closures on city foreshore for Wollongong run and triathlon

Transport for NSW Traffic Alert: 17 April 2026

Motorists are advised of road closures along the Wollongong foreshore this weekend for the Wollongong Triathlon Festival.

On Saturday 18 April the following road closures will be in place for Run Wollongong:

  • Crown Street between Harbour Street and Marine Drive, 10am-11am
  • Marine Drive between Crown Street, Cliff Road/Endeavour Drive, 10am-11am
  • Endeavour Drive between Cliff Road and Marine Drive, 10am-11am
  • Cliff Road between Marine Drive and Blackett Street, 5:30am-12pm
  • Cliff Road between Harbour Street to Marine Drive, 12pm-3.30pm.
  • Elliots Road between Squires Way and Fairy Meadow Beach, 7am-3pm.

On Sunday 19 April the following road closures will be in place for Wollongong Triathlon between 7am and 1pm.

  • Cliff Road between Marine Drive to George Hanley Drive
  • Bourke Street between Cliff Road to the entry of Novotel North Beach
  • Corrimal Street between Blacket Street to George Hanley Drive
  • George Hanley Drive between Cliff Road and Squires Way
  • Squires Way between George Hanley Drive to Pioneer Road
  • Pioneer Road between Squires Way to Towradgi Road 

With limited parking in Wollongong and North Wollongong during the event, attendees are advised to plan their travel ahead.

Allow extra travel time if driving in Wollongong as traffic may be heavier than usual around the area.

Bus diversions will be in place, passengers are encouraged to plan their trip.
