Students awarded ANZAC medallions

The Helensburgh RSL Sub Branch wishes to acknowledge the great public support for and attendance at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service held at Charles Harper Park in Helensburgh.
Our thanks go to all those who contributed to the preparations and conduct of the event, as well as to all of the participants in the service and the audience for their respectful observance of this occasion. We would also like to thank Wollongong City Council for the excellent presentation of the memorial through their works department’s ongoing maintenance and development.
Helensburgh RSL Sub Branch ANZAC Award recipients from the five Helensburgh district schools were presented with the insignia medallions of the award by serving ADF members, veterans and members of the sub branch, to the well deserved acclamation of the audience. These awards were also announced at ANZAC Day ceremonies held within the schools for the students in the days preceding or post ANZAC Day.
The 2026 recipients of the award are :
- Elijah Whitney – Otford Public School
- Charlie Hahipene – Helensburgh Holy Cross Parish school.
- Ty Davis – Waterfall Public School
- Evie Barker – Helensburgh Public School
- Gordon Ives– Stanwell Park Public School
During the service a replica in bronze of one of the original Honour Rolls from Helensburgh Workman’s Club which has been installed on the Wall of Remembrance was also unveiled.
