Wollongong star showman Scott Radburn has performed for three Australian prime ministers and a US president, and racked up thousands of shows over many decades as a member of the Four Kinsmen.

But now Scott, one of the nicest guys in showbiz, has called it a day.

“As I reflect on my long and wonderfully rewarding career in entertainment, my heart is filled with gratitude for the many people who have supported, encouraged, and believed in me along the way,” Scott wrote in a June 29 Facebook post.

“It has been an extraordinary journey, filled with unforgettable experiences and remarkable opportunities. I have been privileged to tour Australia with the Four Kinsmen, entertain audiences throughout the United States, especially in the vibrant city of Las Vegas, perform in the musical Cats in South Korea, and have the honour of working with Prince Edward.

“None of these achievements would have been possible without the incredible support of family, friends, colleague, mentors, audiences, and everyone who shared this journey with me. Your encouragement, loyalty and friendship have meant more than words can express.

“Thank you for every opportunity, every standing ovation, every laugh, every applause, and every memory.”

As The Illawarra Flame reported, the Four Kinsmen reunited for a comeback performance in March this year after more than 15 years off the road. But Scott has decided the time is right to call it quits.

“I will always cherish the people I have met, the places I have travelled. Thank you for being part of this amazing adventure. It has truly been the honour of a lifetime.

”Time has come to hang up my boots and close my cherished career by retiring completely. It’s official and the only singing I will be doing and enjoying will be in a karaoke bar somewhere drinking a pint of cold beer.

“Thanks everyone, you have made my life complete.”
